Job Description
Under limited guidance, this position is responsible for implementing the Western Australian Government’s Aboriginal Ranger Program (ARP) by:
Leading the ARP Team to achieve project objectives within designated timeframes.
Facilitating partnerships with government, Aboriginal groups, and other interest groupsto develop projects and partnerships to provide meaningful Aboriginal ranger opportunities and fulfill traditional owner cultural heritage management aspirations.
Overseeing the development, monitoring, and reporting of ARP funding contracts to ensure they meet government financial and procurement requirements.
Developing and reviewing policies, strategies, and procedures that support the delivery of the ARP and provide mechanisms to improve the program.

Northern Land Council: Monitoring and Evaluation Project Officer
The Northern Land Council (NLC) is looking for a committed and skilled individual with qualifications and/or equivalent experience in social science, social research, community development or project management.
The NLC was established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act in 1976, to assist Aboriginal people in the Top End of the Northern Territory to acquire and manage their traditional lands, waters and seas.
The role
The Community Planning and Development (CP&D) program supports Aboriginal groups to negotiate, plan, fund and undertake their own development projects using an empowerment-based model.
The CP&D Monitoring and Evaluation Officer is responsible for monitoring, evaluating and providing guidance to continually improve the CP&D Program. They will work with groups to support negotiations, develop strategic plans and use income from land use agreements to achieve lasting social, cultural and economic benefits, and will be responsible for monitoring, evaluating and providing guidance to continually improve the CP&D Program.

We are seeking a thought leader to fill the position of Manager Aboriginal Engagement. This is a new position for the State Library and will play a pivotal role in ensuring library services, spaces, collections and programs are community-informed, culturally safe, well-utilised and highly valued by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
This role provides high-level advice, guidance and thought leadership to the Chief Executive Officer and the Executive team on current matters and trends in relation to reconciliation initiatives and relationships with Aboriginal communities, cultural protocols, and strategic priorities.
Our ideal applicant will have sound knowledge of Aboriginal history and culture and an understanding of the issues and barriers to access for Aboriginal people in relation to the State Library. An ability to work and partner effectively with Aboriginal people and communities, and to lead and motivate library staff will be highly regarded.

What will your typical day look like?
This is an exciting opportunity to work with DPIRD’s dynamic and state-wide Aboriginal Economic Development team. You will work closely with the six Noongar Regional Corporations, the South West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council (SWALSC) and across government to support the development and implementation of Noongar land and economic initiatives. The Senior Project officer will work with Noongar people and key stakeholders to promote and support land and sea enterprises in emerging industries such as carbon farming, bush foods and regenerative agriculture. Days will be varied and engaging involving travel across regional Western Australia to engage with stakeholders and implement activities. Work will include creating and maintaining strong stakeholder relations with Aboriginal, government and industry organisations, developing and managing projects, reporting on obligations and contributing to State and Federal policy frameworks.
We currently have a permanent full-time position available for immediate filling with the vacancy location open for flexibility and consideration. The locations available for this vacancy include Perth Metropolitan Area, Peel Region, South West Region, Great Southern Region and Wheatbelt Region.

The Service Lead – Cultural Advice and Employment is a key management role.
