Noongar Lands Coordination Manager

The position is responsible for the effective management of the Lands Unit and promotes stakeholder relationships regarding all land matters under an Indigenous Land Use Agreement. The position also coordinates land management services for the six Noongar regional corporations.

This opportunity is full-time fixed term for 24 months, located at East Perth. The annual salary range is between $139,329 - $156,727 plus superannuation.

  • Manage the SWALSC Land Unit.

    Manage stakeholder relationships with:

    • Noongar Regional Corporations (RCs).

    • Noongar Corporations Committee.

    • Noongar Boodja Trust.

    • Government Agencies (DPLH, DBCA, ALT, DPC, Water Corporation, and DMIRS).

    • External stakeholders.

    Oversee the implementation of the Land Management System (LMS) and support the RCs to implement and use the LMS.

    Partner with our external clients to oversee the implementation of the Indigenous Land Use Agreement components such as compliance including:

    • Cooperative Management Agreements (including providing strategic advice and support).

    • Land Access Licences.

    • Provide land access advice for crown land including the conduct of Noongar customary activities.

    Support our external clients to implement the Noongar Heritage Partnership Agreement.

    Support our clients to establish, manage, resource, and activate the Noongar Land Estate including:

    • Land selection.

    • Noongar Boodja Trust leasing and licencing of cultural lands.

    • Land holding management.

    • Transfer and ongoing use of Aboriginal Lands Trust lands.

    Support our clients to economically activate the Noongar Land Estate including facilitating partnerships and economic initiatives with third parties.

    Support our clients with land offers and initiatives.

    Undertake other duties as directed.

    1. Experience in the management and facilitation of land related matters and outcomes consistent with the South West Native Title Settlement.

    2. Experience in the development of land management programs.

    3. Highly developed written and oral communications skills, including an ability to prepare reports, memos, and other documents.

    4. Knowledge of and ability to engage constructively with the Noongar community and to liaise with government and corporate stakeholders.

    5. Experience contributing to strategic and operational planning.

    6. Current C class drivers licence.
