The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts has opened the 2026 Indigenous Language and Arts (ILA) Grants.
The ILA Program supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians to express, conserve and maintain their cultures through Indigenous languages and arts activities. Grant funding allocated through the ILA Program supports activities that:
Conserve, revitalise and sustain Indigenous languages and
Create, promote and celebrate Indigenous community-based arts activities.
Funding from $20,000 to $200,000 is available for projects commencing after 1 July 2026. Project duration can range from 12 months up to 36 months depending on the category of funding sought.
