DSS: Birriliburu Heathy Country Coordinator

Desert Support Services is recruiting a Birriliburu Healthy Country Coordinator.

The Healthy Country Coordinator leads and supports the implementation of the Birriliburu Healthy Country Plan, working closely with Traditional Owners, ranger teams, and partner organisations to deliver Indigenous-led land management and cultural knowledge preservation across the Birriliburu Indigenous Protected Area (IPA). The role involves coordinating ecological monitoring, cultural site management, and two-way science programs to protect this ecologically and culturally significant region.

The position is also responsible for managing funding agreements, facilitating knowledge exchange between Traditional Owners and scientific partners, supporting women’s participation and leadership, and ensuring governance aligns with cultural priorities and safety standards.

This is a full-time, contract position based in Perth with regular travel to Wiluna and remote field sites. The salary range is $90,000 to $100,000 plus superannuation..
