Aboriginal Legal Service: Custody Wellbeing Service Support Worker (Female)

Aboriginal Legal Service of WA is recruiting for a Custody Wellbeing Service (CWS) Support Worker (Female).

The main role of the CWS Support Worker is to provide culturally secure face-to-face support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander detainees at the Perth Watch House including identification of immediate medical and other wellbeing needs; cultural counselling and mentoring; referrals to ALSWA services and external services as appropriate; and support with contact to family and other support persons.

CWS Support Workers work closely with other ALSWA units and programs, the WA Police Force, the Department of Justice Aboriginal Visitors Scheme, external programs and services, and family and other support persons.

It’s a part-time role until 31 December 2026 based in Boorloo/Perth, with the possibility of extension. The annual salary range is $66,520 to $78,850 plus superannuation and salary packaging.
