Multi-media journalism training

First Nations Media Australia is calling for Expressions of Interest from First Nations people for multi-media journalist training.

The training involves a weekly one-hour class for a period of six months. Classes will be led by professionals in the fields of photography, photojournalism, and news gathering techniques such as research, sourcing, interviewing, media law and editorial.

A five-day training session in audio and visual production will also be held, and trainees will be required to submit weekly assignments.

Trainees who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Attainment for the relevent Units of Competency, and will be expected to produce regular news and current affairs reports for First Nations Media Australia’s IndigiTube and social media.
